West Virginia GMB

The West Virginia GMB is a new branch covering the entire state of West Virginia and some counties in Maryland and Ohio. Our branch was formed as a result of the education walkouts, which brought together Wobblies from across the state prepared to assist however we could. We have since been committed to building the One Big Union by focusing on community assistance with our free clothing drives, building regional density where membership is largest, and assisting the education fight with the most militant organizers inside WVEA and AFT. We wanted to join the SCC because of the ability to connect with other Wobblies across the South and Appalachia who might be able to help us organize certain industries and create deeper ties between our branch and more established branches and networks.
